Debbie Katz moved to Miami as a young adult. There the challenge presented itself to find dresses that were both beautiful to wear and comfortably cool. The budding designer found her “signature fabric”—a cotton gauze of the highest American quality; the Debbie Katz line was born. Today the fabric is still the primary staple in all of Katz’s collections.
Inspired by women all over the world, Katz travels the globe to sustainably source unique materials from Thailand, India, Bali and beyond. She is always seeking to use fair-trade materials and believes in empowering women, especially single mothers, to work.
After focusing for more than a decade on resort wear inspired by beach towns and coastal living, Katz has expanded the line to include items perfect for fall and winter wear, including a line of ethnic-inspired boho bags and clutches that have been embraced by fans all over the world. Using vintage embroidery applications, leather and beading, Katz takes bohemian fashion to new seasons and heights.
